The Media's Corruption

Ever wonder why society is so obsessed with appearance?

The cosmetic industry is a multi-billion dollar industry,

And new diet trends are just never ending.

We are conditioned to hate ourselves by the medias false projection of beauty.

Take a look at the high fashion modeling industry for example. It's primarily composed of very thin and tall models that look quite different from the average man or woman. This creates the mentality that THEY are the true measurement of beauty. People don't realize that a good amount of these models are doing very unhealthy things to control their weight, such as starving, over exercising, using diet pills, or purging.

In addition to promoting unhealthy models, the media almost always morphs and edits photos to cover up and "flaws". Photoshop is a magical thing! They make these thin models appear even more thin. They shrink their waist and widen their breasts or hips. They cover up any skin de-coloration, stretch marks, or blemishes, and they continue to emphasize this FALSE standard of beauty.

But why? What is the purpose of making us hate ourselves? Why would they want to hide the only things that makes models appear more natural and normal? Why doesn't the media promote more diversity?

....

BECAUSE, the media is in bed with the cosmetic industry. The more the media projects this almost impossible standard, the more people attempt to achieve this look.

People begin to feel less beautiful.

More people become desperate.

They begin to try anything... even if its unhealthy or expensive.

Even if it is deadly.
